Anonymous claimed via Twitter today to have hacked the PlayStation Network, compromising 10 million accounts and collecting 50 GB of data. However, PSN users can relax as the news was deemed a hoax when it was discovered that the list of leaked emails was a copy of a pastebin posting from March 19. Sony Computer Entertainment’s Shane Bettenhausen stated in a tweet that the claim is “totally fake.”

Still, this is a good time to strengthen your password and keep a close eye on your PSN account.
